The Tagua Nut mimics the look of ivory. So much so that it’s nickname is vegtable ivory. This material is a favorite amoung indenginous local communities as a means of commerce—beautiful commerce.

This is a signed piece. the date is a little hard to read, but it’s somewhere between the years 2000 and 2009–see pic.
